ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂದು ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ

ಕೌಂಡಿಲ್ಯ ಮುನಿಯು ವಿವಾಹದ ನಂತರ ಸಪತ್ನೀಕನಾಗಿ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟನು. ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನದಿಯ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನಿತ್ಯ ಕರ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿಂತಾಗ, ಅವರ ಪತ್ನಿಯು ಕೆಲವು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರನ್ನು ಒಂದು ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರು. ಆ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ 'ನಾವು ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ' ಎಂದೂ, ಆ ವ್ರತದಿಂದ ಆಗುವ ಲಾಭಗಳೇನು ಎಂದೂ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಇದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಭಾವಿತರಾದ ಕೌಂಡಿಲ್ಯ ಮುನಿಯ ಪತ್ನಿಯೂ ಕೂಡ ಶೇಷಶಯನನಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಷ್ಣುವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸತೊಡಗಿದಳು. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕೌಂಡಿಲ್ಯ ಮುನಿಯ ಧನ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಕೌಂಡಿಲ್ಯ ಮುನಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತದ ದಾರವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅದೇನೆಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು. ಪತ್ನಿಯು 'ಇದು ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತದ ದಾರ, ಈ ವ್ರತದಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ದೇವರು ಸುಖ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ' ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು. ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಕೌಂಡಿಲ್ಯ ಮುನಿಯು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು 'ಈ ಸುಖ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ನನ್ನ ಪಾಂಡಿತ್ಯದಿಂದ ನಾನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ' ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದಾರವನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತೆಸೆದನು.

ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಕ್ಷೀಣಿಸತೊಡಗಿತು. ಮುಂದೊಂದು ದಿನ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಕೌಂಡಿಲ್ಯ ಮುನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ತಪ್ಪಿನ ಅರಿವಾಯಿತು. ಅಖಂಡ ತಪಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಷ್ಣುವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು. ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಕೌಂಡಿಲ್ಯ ಮುನಿಗೆ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನಿತ್ತು, ೧೪ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿದರೆ, ಹೋದ ಸುಖ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಪುನಃ ಗಳಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ವರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡೋಣ : ಪಾಂಡವರು ಕೌರವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೋತು ೧೪ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ವನವಾಸವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಪಾಂಡವರಿಂದ ಅನಂತ ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿದನು, ಇದರ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ಮರಳಿ ದೊರೆಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಪುರಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖವಿದೆ.

ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಪಿತೃಗಳೂ ಅಥವಾ ತಂದೆ - ತಾಯಿಗಳ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟು ಭಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆಯಿಂದ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧಾದಿಗಳನ್ನ
ು ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂಥವರ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಸಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ನಾಸ್ತಿಕರ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಮಾನವರು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ - ಅಧರ್ಮದಿಂದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿ ಅದರಿಂದ ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಆ ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಚಾಂಡಾಲ - ಪುಲಸ್ಕ ( ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷತ್ರೀಯ ಜಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮಿಶ್ರ ಜಾತಿಯವ ) ಮುಂತಾದ ಪಾಪಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುವುದೇ ಹೊರತು ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ!!

ಈ ಪವಿತ್ರವಾದ ಪಿತೃ ಯಜ್ಞದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜನಾರ್ದನ ರೂಪಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನನ್ನೇ " ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧಾ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ " ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿಬೇಕು.
ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸುವ ಎಳ್ಳು - ದರ್ಭೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜನಾರ್ದನನು ಒಂದೊಂದು ರೂಪದಿಂದ ನೆಲೆಸುವನು.
ವಿಶ್ವೇ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಅಂತರ್ಯಾಮಿಯಾಗಿ 3555 ರೂಪಗಳಿಂದ ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ ಕರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವ ವಿಘ್ನಗಳು ಬರದಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಜನಾರ್ದನನು ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ ಕರ್ಮವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು.
